In order to respond to social issues more swiftly and to gather opinions from a wider scope, the Centre launched the "Current Issues Monitor" in April 2000. The series, collecting views by territory-wide telephone surveys, have 3 major characteristics. Firstly, topics will be on youth related hot issues. Secondly, targets of survey include not only the young people but also their significant others and the public. Thirdly, the survey results, in the form of easy-reading tables, will all be published via the internet. This signifies a breakthrough in our way of disseminating research results.
