"Enabling Robust Cross-border Health Services for Hong Kong Residents" Press Briefing
The healthcare system in Hong Kong is overwhelmed due to the increasing ageing population and the growing number of chronic disease patients, all while facing a shortage of healthcare manpower. Thus, society must seek other measures to address these issues and achieve the goal of a stable and sustainable healthcare system.
The society and livelihood group of the Youth I.D.E.A.S. released a research report on "Enabling Robust Cross-border Health Services for Hong Kong Residents". Survey founded cross-border healthcare has become one of the medical options for Hong Kong citizens due to enhanced healthcare services, lower costs, and shorter waiting times compared to those in Hong Kong.
The above-mentioned study conducted field surveys from November 9th to 14th 2024, interviewing 600 Hong Kong residents aged 18 to 74. Additionally, 18 cases aged 23 to 70 who had or had not visited the Mainland for medical services were interviewed, along with 5 experts.
