The Youth I.D.E.A.S. announced its latest report on Living with Innovative Technologies and Building a Smart City     The research project conducted from July to August, consists of a 520-participants onsite survey and 20 individual youth talks, found that youths’ understanding towards ‘Innovative technologies, IT’ was unclear, when some of the interviewed referred ‘R&D’ to be their first thought towards the subject. The Youth I.D.E.A.S. announced its latest report on Nurturing Talent for Governance   An onsite survey conducted from June to July on 520 young people aged 18 – 34 noted that a significant proportion (77.1%) of respondents recognized the need for greater governance talent in the city. Close to 69% (68.5%) felt a lack of talent was a major hindrance to effective governance of the HKSAR Government. The Youth I.D.E.A.S. announced its latest report on Boosting Birth Rate in Hong Kong   An onsite survey on 520 young people aged 20 – 39 found that the average intended parity was 1.41, less than the ideal parity of 1.84. Although only 5.8% of respondents indicated an ideal family size should be childless, near one in five (18.5%) intended to be childless in the future.   The major reasons of the surveyed youth to give birth were “the desire for a complete family” (71.1%), “the enhancement in family life” (68.5%) and “the love of kids” (66.8%). The Youth I.D.E.A.S. announced its latest report on Encouraging Young-Olds Employment     The Youth I.D.E.A.S. (established by HKFYG Youth Research Centre) has released its study Encouraging Young-Olds Employment”.   Data gathered from 520 young people aged 18-34 showed that 71.7% support young-olds employment while 28.1% think that there should not be any upper limit on working age. The Youth I.D.E.A.S. announced its latest report on Improving Liberal Studies in Senior Secondary Education     The Youth I.D.E.A.S. (established by HKFYG Youth Research Centre) has released its study on “Improving Liberal Studies in Senior Secondary Education”.   The Study noted that the value for the New Senior Secondary Liberal Studies (NSSLS) subject was generally upheld by teachers and youth polled in the two separated surveys.   Youth I.D.E.A.S 29 Governance and Constitutional Development Enhancing e-Government in the HKSAR 26 April, 2018     An online survey last month on 648 young people aged 18 – 34 noted that more than 70% (71.1%) of respondents had used online Government services during the past 12 months. Of them, “for convenience” (76.4%) and “time saving” (13.0%) were the two major reasons for using these services.   Among the users, close to 47% (46.8%) said the services were satisfactory.
